No 11 Quote from Scripture with Reflection called Scripnet

Welcome Friend,

What is your joy? Here is another Scripture quote I am sure you will love from psalm 37. A reflection of a quote from Jerry Bridges.  With that said it is called Scriptnet.

Delight in the Lord

Delight in the Lord

The discription of delight is from the NIV is what I think when I delight in the Lord. How about you?

1. A high degree of pleasure, or satisfaction of mind; joy.

His delight is in the law of the Lord. Ps. 1.

2. That which gives great pleasure; that which affords delight.

Titus was the delight of human kind.

I was daily his delight. Prov. 8.

Delight is a more permanent pleasure than joy, and not dependent on sudden excitement.

1. To affect with great pleasure; to please highly; to give or afford high satisfaction or joy; as, a beautiful landscape delights the eye; harmony delights the ear; the good conduct of children, and especially their piety, delights their parents.

I will delight myself in thy statutes. Ps. 119.

2. To receive great pleasure in.

Most times I am in the #2 meaning above. But, other time feeling of #1.

Let me know we you think.

I believe in delighting and fellowship with the Lord as Jerry Bridges quotes says so well.

1 John1:21 John1:3

2 (And the 1alife was 2bmanifested, and we have seen and ctestify and report to you 3the deternal life, which was 4ewith the 5Father and was 6manifested to us);

3 That which we have 1seen and heard we report 2also to you that you 2also may have 3afellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the 4Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

What is real Christian fellowship? Read more…

When I was a young believer, I thought that Christian fellowship simply referred to a group of Christians coming together to share some common interests, possibly eating together and enjoying one another’s company.

Later, I had an additional thought that fellowship referred to conversations among believers in seeking to know God’s will and understand spiritual matters.

But whether an activity can be considered genuine “fellowship” according to the Bible depends on something deeper. That is, is the spiritual nature of the divine fellowship as revealed in God’s Word actually there?

In this post we’ll consider what is the genuine Christian fellowship revealed in the Bible. Then we’ll focus on how we can experience such a fellowship in our daily Christian life and church life.

What is the meaning of fellowship in the Bible?

the above was taken from: Holding to the Truth in Love website.

The two words together: Delight and Fellowship brings Joy to all.

You are in my prayers. God bless you and keep you safe.  Scripture taken from verses in the NIV.
